Adam Kressler joined the Air Services Development Team of the CVG in 2013. He manages airline relations and develops new opportunities to grow and expand the airport. He has over 15 years of experience in airport management and airlines relations. Adam is a native of Cincinnati and a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors Degree in Urban Planning and a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

The airport has an impact on the local economy of approximately $3.6 billion annually. Over 23,000 jobs are tied to the airport and over 10,000 which are held on airport property. In 2010, passengers contributed $282 million to local businesses. The airport contributes $92 million dollars in tax revenue to the local economy.

Mr. Kressler and his team are focusing on the following goals:
1. Growth with existing carriers
2. Attract low cost carriers
3. Reduce domestic fairs
4. Recapture leakage of passengers to other airports
5. Grow local passenger base

The airport has 170 peak days with Mondays and Thursdays having the most volumes with 56 non-stop destinations. 5.7 million Passengers travel through CVG with 80% of them being local passengers. There are 11 airlines and 16 operating carriers.

On the cargo side of the business, DHL has consistently grown and now CVG is considered the ninth largest cargo airport in the United States. DHL moves 500,000 tons through the airport each year and now employ 2,300 employees which is 700 more than when DHL was located in Wilmington.

In May 2012, the airport opened Concourse A and closed down Terminal 2 as part of the Master Plan to become more efficient. The passenger base has grown even though there has been a month over month decline in seats available. In October of 2014, the number of seats available has increase the first time since August of 2005. October will be up 1%, November will be up 5% and December is projected to be up 8%. Most of the increase is being driven by Frontier, Allegiant and Ultimate Airlines along with the major airlines of US Air and American also seeing growth.

More seats and better pricing by the low cost carriers are helping to bring passengers back to CVG. October 2014 will be the first month which CVG will have more low cost seats than neighboring Dayton Airport. Of the tickets sold within a 60 miles radius, in 2012 of the tickets sold 33% were for flights originating at CVG, the number increased 37% in 2014 in the second quarter the number was 40%.

The low cost carriers are not just flying to resort destinations, they are expanding to cities such as Dallas which is being served by Frontier which is a popular destination for business travelers.

Mr. Kressler thanked the Florence Rotary for all the great work the organization does locally and across the country and world.
